Study history and culture in Jamaica, a beautiful country full of rich
culture and heritage. Students will also enjoy the food, natural beauty,
winter Caribbean weather, history, safe environment, and friendly
people.
Based at the University of the West Indies at Mona, you’ll interact with
a variety of people as you study history, and culture. In addition,
you’ll learn about reggae, religion, food, politics and history through
visits to galleries, museums, music venues, and cultural sites. Walking
the streets of Kingston is a visual adventure.
This winter session
program includes a variety of excursions in Bob Marley museum, Maroon
Mountain and includes a weekend trip to a farm.
Students reside in single rooms in the dormitories at UWI at Mona, with
all meals provided when the group is in Kingston. Meals are not provided
on approximately four excursion days.
Whether you’re interested in the political history, reggae music, or
seeing gorgeous waterfalls, the Winter session in Jamaica is your chance
to learn about African diaspora culture in the Caribbean.
