2020 Winter Session in Jamaica with Dr. Brown

Study history and culture in Jamaica, a beautiful country full of rich culture and heritage. Students will also enjoy the food, natural beauty, winter Caribbean weather, history, safe environment, and friendly people. Based at the University of the West Indies at Mona, you’ll interact with a variety of people as you study history, and culture. In addition, you’ll learn about reggae, religion, food, politics and history through visits to galleries, museums, music venues, and cultural sites. Walking the streets of Kingston is a visual adventure.

This winter session program includes a variety of excursions in Bob Marley museum, Maroon Mountain and includes a weekend trip to a farm. Students reside in single rooms in the dormitories at UWI at Mona, with all meals provided when the group is in Kingston. Meals are not provided on approximately four excursion days.

Whether you’re interested in the political history, reggae music, or seeing gorgeous waterfalls, the Winter session in Jamaica is your chance to learn about African diaspora culture in the Caribbean.
