Professor Colette Gaiter's work is being
featured in the exhibition "DesignHer: Works by Contemporary Women
Graphic Designers," open September 30 - December 12, 2021, at the Eleanor
D. Wilson Museum at @hollinsuniversity.
The exhibition is curated by
@melissawarp and Kenneth Fitzgerald, and includes a variety of work from
19 designers, including Paula Scher and Zuzana Licko of @emigrefonts,
plus Marian Bantjes, Denise Gonzales Crisp, Colette Gaiter, Laura
Rossig, Debbie Millman, Kali Nikitas, and more!
Design(H)er
celebrates the leadership and achievements of women in design. Featuring
the work of emerging to internationally-recognized designers, this
exhibition demonstrates the range of design practice and diversity of
practitioners active today. Exhibited works and their accompanying
design materials range from high profile commercial product designs to
small-scale community projects. This exhibit and its related
programs are sponsored in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts,

Professor
Gaiter is also presenting on the work of Black Panther and
Revolutionary Artist Emory Douglas at the Museum of Modern Art on
Wednesday, November 3, 2021. In a virtual lecture/panel, she will
moderate a discussion between Douglas and other emerging artist
activists. This event follows Professor Gaiter's October 1 talk
at the 5th International Conference Socialism on the Bench, where she
also presented some of Douglas' work in the panel "Artists for
Antifascist Front: Esthetic and Poetic Questions II," in Pula, Croatia.
